This is not new for us to come across with an “Error Connection Reset”. As common the error is, so are their fixes. When you browse through a webpage, not every time you establish a connection with the site, you get the error too. There are many reasons to get such errors and many advanced fixes to resolve it. We will discuss here the one very simple fix which verifies the router and Modem. Let us learn how to check and work through the Router and Modems when the “error connection reset” happens.

There are many advanced methods to fix an error connection reset; such as Proxy change, MTU, Power Cycle-way, removing antivirus, etc. However, not every time error requires those lengthy resolves; few steps could do. Here, we will talk about a small but effective resolution.

The foremost option to the solutions to “error connection reset” is to check the connectivity of your internet. When it is working fine and has full strength, reboot your Router to reconnect with the device. Mostly when you are working on older hardware or drive requires a reboot in a certain interval of time. The troubleshooting with a simple button to restart is the easiest way you could think of. So, whenever you get a connection reset problem to reboot the Router. This restart fixes the problem even if it’s related to a router or a Modem. There are certain checklists which you have to consider when you reboot a Router or Modem

  • When you are up to reboot your router to fix the Error Connection Reset, make sure to unplug the Router along with modem and other networking hardware you are managing through the connection.
  • Use only the “Power Button” to restart, if you are intending to and avoid any reset or Restart button.
  • After unplugging the Router and other devices, wait for at least 30 seconds before you restart the power button.
  • Now Plug in the Router, Modem and other devices, also if necessary then press the power button to turn it on.
  • Once you turn the Router on wait for a minute or so to get the lights on it stable. You will find four lights on the Router and once the last light gets stable that means the internet connection is connected to the server and getting the IP address.
  • Now you may plug in the Router. You might need to do power button “on” too and a combination of both.
  • You have to give Router 2-3 minutes to your computer to reboot
  • After you reboot your Router successfully, verify the connection. Check if it has been reset or not.

Note: Do not press the Reset button provided on the Router. There are technical differences between Reset and the Restart. Reset is more permanent whereas Reboot is temporary. Reset button brings changes in configuration and other such settings within the router and other hardware devices.

Fixes for Android devices for the Error Your Connection is not Private

Android devices also get such problems. When there is a faulty connection on your android device. These are related to SSL errors for connection. Secure Socket Layer, (SSL) is the original protocol for the encryption. The SSL Certificates have two jobs to perform. The first one is to authenticate the website’s identification and the second one is the encryption. It encrypts the communication between the browser of your phone and the server. When you browse through your phone, your data remains unsafe without encryption. The SSL encrypts which could be decrypted only by a website.   • Verify Internet Connection: As we say, first thing first. If your browser is not working fine, the connectivity issue cannot be ruled out. Verify the internet connection is established or not. If you are one Wi-Fi, ensure it is secured one, not the public one otherwise the error occurs.

 

  • Time and Date Verification: It is the one basic requirement which we can verify in the first few goes. So we check the Time and date of the Android phone. There are fair possibilities to have incorrect date and Time. In such case correct it. For changing the date and time just go to Settings and click on “Date and Time”. Here select the option to adjust automatic Date and Time. Now select the “activate” option.

 

  • Browsing Data History: Clear them all: When the date and time method don’t work or go through your phone browsing data and clear all of them. To clear the browsing data to open Google Chrome. Open the Menu and go to Privacy. Select settings and click on “Clear browsing Data”.

 

  • Get your Antivirus Disabled temporarily: When you have an antivirus loaded in your device, some of the websites will not run as those are blocked by the loaded antivirus. In such a case, connecting through those websites couldn’t be established unless you temporarily disabled them. Once you do it, you could connect to the preferred sites.

 

  • The Last Option: Resetting: As said the last option. To reset any device should be the option to your resolve. However, if you have gone through all other options to reset your connection and failed then “Reset” your device. Before you start the process, take the back up of all your data. Now follow the process. By go to settings, find “Backup and Reset”. Now click on “Factory Data Reset”. You will get your phone reset and start afresh with your Browsing.
